Cleaning Instructions

To ensure long-term accuracy and prevent salt build-up:

• Wipe After Use: Regularly wipe the stainless steel prongs with a damp, soft cloth to remove nutrient salts or media residue.

• Deep Clean: If you notice inconsistent readings, clean the prongs with isopropyl alcohol (70%) to remove stubborn biofilms. Never use abrasive scrubbers (like steel wool) as this can damage the sensor coating.

Calibration & Placement Tips

• Substrate Consistency: For the most accurate VWC%, ensure the medium is packed consistently around the prongs with no air gaps.

• Proper Depth: Fully insert all three prongs into the medium. In rockwool, insert horizontally; in pots, insert at 50mm/2" from the bottom the block/container.

• Air Calibration: Before a new run, check the sensor in open air; it should read 0%. If it doesn't, use the "Calibration" menu on your Aqua-X or Hydro-X controller to reset the baseline.
