Cleaning & Maintenance

• Biofilm & Salt Removal: Nutrient salts and organic biofilms can "insulate" the EC probes, leading to false low readings. Clean the prongs monthly with a soft brush and a mild detergent or 70% Isopropyl Alcohol.

• Rinse Thoroughly: After cleaning, ensure the sensor is rinsed with distilled or RO water to remove any cleaning agent residue before re-insertion.

Calibration for Accuracy

• The "Dry" and "Saturated" Reset: To ensure the EC and VWC% readings are accurate for your specific nutrient brand and medium, perform a two-point calibration. Calibrate the sensor in open air for your 0% baseline, and then in a fully saturated sample of your medium to set the 100% (field capacity) mark.
