What Does Athena Pro Core Do?

Athena Pro Core provides the calcium, nitrogen and micronutrient foundation required by the Athena Pro Line. Rather than functioning as a standalone stage-specific fertiliser, Core is combined with the appropriate Pro Line component to create a complete nutrient programme.

During vegetative growth, Athena Pro Core is paired with Athena Pro Grow. When plants transition into flowering and fruiting, Pro Core is paired with Athena Pro Bloom. This two-part approach allows the main nutrient profile to change between growth stages while maintaining a consistent source of calcium, nitrogen and essential trace elements.

Use Pro Core with Pro Grow or Pro Bloom

Athena Pro Core is designed to be combined with another Athena Pro Line base fertiliser. The accompanying product changes according to the stage of plant development:

• Vegetative Stage: Athena Pro Core + Athena Pro Grow
• Flowering Stage: Athena Pro Core + Athena Pro Bloom

Pro Grow and Pro Bloom provide the stage-specific NPK profile, while Pro Core supplies the complementary calcium, nitrogen and micronutrients required by the Athena Pro Line feeding programme.

Preparing Athena Pro Core Stock Concentrate

Athena recommends preparing Pro Core as a concentrated liquid stock solution rather than repeatedly adding small quantities of dry fertiliser directly to the final working reservoir.

For metric preparation, Athena's recommended Pro Line concentrate is approximately 226 g per litre. This is based on approximately 2 lb (907 g) per 4 litres of final stock solution.

1. Use a clean stock tank or measuring vessel with accurate volume markings.
2. Part-fill the vessel with clean water.
3. Slowly add the required amount of Athena Pro Core while continuously stirring or agitating the water.
4. Continue mixing until the dry mineral granules have completely dissolved.
5. Add additional water until the required final stock-solution volume is reached.
6. Mix thoroughly again to produce a completely uniform concentrate.

Important: Athena's imperial concentrate is based on 2 lb per US gallon, while the metric reference uses 2 lb per 4 litres. Always follow the dosage chart that corresponds with the stock concentration you have prepared.

Athena Pro Core Dosing by Target EC

When Pro Core is prepared at Athena's recommended 226 g/L metric stock concentration, the following amounts of Pro Core concentrate are used per 10 litres of working nutrient solution according to the desired target EC.

These figures apply specifically to a 226 g/L stock concentrate. If a different concentrate strength is prepared, the dosing volume must be adjusted accordingly. Always confirm the final nutrient strength with an accurate EC meter.
