Eazy Plug Organic Propagation Trays provide the ultimate, eco-friendly starting medium for both novice growers and commercial horticulturists across the UK. Formulated from a premium blend of peat, coco coir, and organic binders, these 100% compostable plugs offer an unbeatable alternative to traditional rockwool or soil.
They are supplied completely dry, making them exceptionally lightweight to transport, clean to handle, and naturally resistant to mould with an unlimited shelf life in storage. Each plug is pre-buffered to an optimal pH of 5.8 and pre-loaded with a basic fertiliser to sustain early plant life for the first 2 to 3 weeks.
Key Features & Benefits:
  • Perfect Air-to-Water Ratio: The unique self-regulating open structure ensures the plugs only hold the exact amount of water required, making over-watering virtually impossible.
  • Pre-Set pH and EC: Buffered to a pH of 5.8 with an EC of 1.0, giving your plants the perfect, stress-free start without complex prep work.
  • No Rooting Compounds Needed: The advanced organic matrix encourages fast, vigorous root strikes for cuttings without requiring extra rooting gels or powders.
  • Zero Transplant Shock: The plugs remain firmly bonded together as a whole, protecting delicate roots from damage when moving plants into soil, coco, or hydroponic systems.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Sowing Seeds
  1. Soak the Plugs: Submerge the tray in water or a mild nutrient solution (ideally adjusted to pH 5.8).
  2. Drain Excess Liquid: Allow the plugs to naturally drain out any excess water. Do not squeeze or press them; they self-regulate to the perfect moisture level.
  3. Drop the Seed: Place one seed into the pre-formed hole at the top of each plug.
  4. Cover & Protect: Lightly cover the hole with a thin layer of soil or vermiculite, and give it a gentle mist. Place the tray inside a warm, humid propagator.
2. Striking Cuttings
  1. Saturate the Tray: Fully moisten the dry plugs with pH 5.8 water and let the excess drain away freely.
  2. Prepare the Cutting: Take your cutting diagonally just below a node using a clean, sharp blade. Remove excess lower foliage.
  3. Insert Gently: Push the stem directly down into the pre-made cutting hole until it reaches the bottom.
  4. Incubate: Put the tray into a propagation dome with the vents closed to lock in moisture. Keep the environment at roughly 22°C. Avoid top-up watering for the first 3 days; simply mist the inside of the dome lid to maintain high humidity.
3. Transplanting
Once you see vibrant white roots beginning to push through the sides and bottom of the plugs, they are ready to move. Simply lift the bonded plug out of the tray and place it directly into your next medium—whether that is a larger hydroponic block, coco coir pots, or outdoor garden soil.
