To maximise canopy efficiency and keep your heavy flowering branches stable, use your LightHouse Garden Soft Tie following these simple steps:
1. Measure and Cut
  • Unwind the desired amount of soft tie from the spool.
  • Use a pair of wire cutters, garden snips, or strong scissors to cut the length you need.
  • Tip: Always cut about 2 to 3 inches longer than you think you need to leave plenty of room for twisting the ends together.
2. Securing a Stem (Standard Support)
  • Wrap the soft tie loosely around the plant stem or branch.
  • Loop the other end around your support structure (such as a bamboo cane, stakes, trellis netting, or grow tent poles).
  • Twist the two ends around each other twice to lock the tie firmly in place.
  • Important: Always leave a small gap between the tie and the stem. Never pull it completely tight, as the stem needs room to expand and thicken as the plant matures.
3. Low-Stress Training (LST Canopy Manipulation)
  • To encourage horizontal growth, loop a section of soft tie around the upper part of a branch.
  • Gently bend the branch down to your desired angle to open up the canopy to more light.
  • Anchor the opposite end of the tie to the rim of your fabric pot, a grow grid, or a lower tent support structure.
4. Clean and Reuse
  • At harvest time, simply untwist the soft ties to release your branches.
  • Soak them briefly in warm water with a mild, plant-safe disinfectant to clear off any sticky plant resins, dirt, or salt build-up.
  • Dry them thoroughly and store them flat for your next grow cycle.
